Water Meter and Water Leak Information

HOME PAGE

OTE MUTUAL WATER COMPANY

All the OTE properties have had an electronic water meter installed with the ability for each property to have online access to monitor usage and get alerts of any potential leaks!! The OTEMWC board encourages everyone to sign on to EyeOnWater.com for this important information available daily. Currently, there are OTE properties with leaks ranging from almost 200 gallons per hour to 3 gallons per hour. The new system has already alerted one property owner that had a leak of over 3,000 gallons per hour!

The system (EyeOnWater.com) is new to all of us and you may come across glitches. Please let Alan Corlin know about any questions or concerns and he’ll follow up with the vendor. He can be reached at 310-367-6359 or alan@alancorlin.com for sign on assistance or questions about the system. FYI – there is a problem with the date/time stamps that has been reported to the vendor on August 25, 2021.

Let's all do our part to conserve water!

To get started:

1. Visit https://eyeonwater.com/signup to create your online account.

2. Enter the zip code for Oak Trail Estates; 93460

3. Enter your account number. Your account number is the word Lot then your Lot number. So, if your Lot is 7, your account number is Lot 7 or if your Lot is 31 your account number is Lot 31. The word Lot is case sensitive and must be capitalized.

4. Enter your name and email address.

5. Create and confirm a password. The system will insist on a sufficiently secure password so you may have to try several before it accepts your password. Passwords must be 8 - 16 characters long. It likes you to use symbols as some of the characters.

6. You will then receive an email that asks you to confirm your registration. After clicking the link in your email, open the https://eyeonwater.com/signin web page, enter your email address and password to sign in.

7. Once you're logged in, you'll be able to view your water consumption and review your leak alert settings.

8. Optional: Download the EyeOnWater app on your phone.

Once you have successfully logged into eyeonwater.com, following are some things to keep in mind:

· REMINDER - A leak on shareholder property is the responsibility of the shareholder to repair.

· The EyeOnWater home page has a lot of good information including water usage “at a glance” and leak status.

· EyeOnWater will show you how many gallons you have used for the day, week, month, or year. It will also compare this to the last day, week, month, or year. However, since the system is brand new, there is no history for comparison.

· EyeOnWater will inform you if you have a leak of 1 gallon or more per hour. The system checks each 24 hour period. If you do not have zero water usage for at least one hour in a 24 hour period, the system will provide a leak alert on the home page.

· To be informed by email of leaks, look for the Edit Leak Alert link under the picture of a faucet. This is important so that you receive an email alert when you have a leak.

o First screen - Select intermittent, arrow to next page.

o Second screen – The screen print below illustrates the set up for an alert when hourly flow exceeds 10 Gallons/hr for 24 consecutive hours. The system will send an email to you if your water usage is not below the default limit of 10 gallons for at least one hour in a 24 hour period. You may change the default level. Arrow to the next page.

o Third screen – review your email address, arrow to the next page.

o Fourth screen - Save.

· If you have a leak greater than the limit set above (for example, 10 gallons per hr), you will receive an email From: alerts-noreply@beaconama.net. With a subject line, Leak Alert for (your property address). The application home page will show any leak over 1 gallon per hour over a 24 hour period while the email is based on the level set in the leak alert (defaulted at 10/gallons per hour).

· Contact Alan Corlin at 310-367-6359 or alan@alancorlin.com for sign on assistance or questions about the system.

· More information will be posted on the oaktrailestates.org website for troubleshooting leaks and frequently asked questions.
